About Royal London Hospital
The Royal London Hospital is a 1,248-bed major teaching hospital on Whitechapel Road in east London, operated by Barts Health NHS Trust. It is one of the busiest Major Trauma Centres in the UK, treating around 3,600 major trauma patients a year as part of the London Major Trauma Network, and is the daytime operating base for London's Air Ambulance — the rooftop helipad sits on the 17th floor of the Whitechapel building, around 280 ft above street level. The 24/7 adult Emergency Department sits alongside a separate Children's Emergency Department, a hyper-acute stroke centre, the Royal London Dental Hospital, specialist neurosciences, cardiology, renal services and consultant-led maternity and neonatal services. Current Royal London Hospital A&E waiting times are tracked here in real time, sourced from Barts Health NHS Trust.
