About South Tyrone Hospital MIU

The Minor Injury Unit at South Tyrone Hospital is on Carland Road in Dungannon, County Tyrone, operated by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. It runs a "Phone First" model — patients must call 0300 123 3 111 to be triaged and given an appointment time before attending. The unit is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 9pm, and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays from 10am to 6pm. It treats patients aged 5 and over with cuts, grazes, minor burns and scalds, sprains, strains, bruises, broken bones (limbs), broken noses, minor head injuries (no loss of consciousness), bites, wound infections, abscesses and foreign bodies in eyes or nose. The site also provides day surgery, outpatient clinics and diagnostic imaging. For severe bleeding, breathing difficulty, chest pain, suspected heart attack or stroke, major trauma or any other life-threatening problem call 999 or attend the Emergency Department at Craigavon Area Hospital.
